ESTABLISH A FUND
Make a lasting difference in your community.
The Temiskaming Foundation can help you create a permanent legacy felt over generations. We do this by building and managing endowment funds for community needs. Donations to the fund are invested, and every year, grants are made from earned interest and they go towards the causes and organizations that mean most to you. These funds are held in perpetuity – they are never spent and each year it keeps earning interest and giving back to the community.
You can create an endowment as a memorial for a loved one, or as a way to leave a legacy of your own. Charities can create funds as a way to build a solid foundation of financial support. Endowment funds are also an excellent way to encourage a family tradition of caring. By starting a fund, children and grandchildren are able to develop an active interest in the charities the family’s fund supports. Whatever your reason, we can help you.
We offer a variety of endowment options tailored to your needs.
Our simplest fund is a Named Fund, which can be set up with a minimum of $1000. This would be placed in a Community Fund and can stay there with the donor’s name or in memorium of a friend or family member.
Grants will be pooled and given out to the community where they are needed the most.Other options include Donor Advised Funds or Restricted Funds. These funds allow you to choose a specific cause or recipient, and can be set up with a minimum of $10,000.
Over time, if the contributions of a Named Fund reach $10,000, the donor can choose to either have it become a Donor Advised or Restricted Fund.
We’re here to help.
We want to work with you to ensure your investments are set up for long-term growth. Things to consider include:
- Do you know what you would like to do to make your community a better place?
- Would you like to name your fund in memory of a loved one or in honour of someone?
- How will you define your legacy and who in your family will be able to make decisions about your fund?
